A graceful pattern of ashes over a backing color (you choose), along with a beautifully sculpted glass sunflower. The photos show a dark blue backing, and a red backing; but there are other options available. Please let me know if there is a color that you would like. (The ashes do not show up well on really light backing colors though.)
Glass Sunflower With Encased Ash
I hope that having one of these will bring some comfort to you, and that it will act as a reminder of the joy that you and your companion gave each other.
It's difficult to capture the depth of these flowers in a photo. Seen in person, it is obvious that this is a small encased sculpture; not just a picture or painting made with glass. A thin layer of the ashes will surround the flower. The ashes end up looking like a starry night sky. These photos show two backing color examples: Cobalt ( dark blue) and Pomegranate (Red). There are many others available. If you have a color in mind, feel free to send a message before ordering and we can talk about the options. If you're not sure about a color, feel free to contact me, and I'll show you examples if it's a color that I have.
If you decide to order a custom pendant, I'll send you instructions (and help you) to get a very small amount of ashes to me. As soon as they arrive I'll begin creating a unique piece of wearable art for you. I'll be very careful and respectful with the ashes, and I'll return any remaining ash to you along with your necklace.
When you order, if you'd like to, you can send me a photo and tell me about your companion. I'll think about that as I make your piece. That description can influence my work, and in a way, can help to bring the spirit of your friend into this custom pendant.
These beautiful, one of a kind heirlooms are carefully crafted in my small studio in Northern California. They are made with high quality borosilicate glass (which is much more durable than standard glass) and are kiln annealed.
